Victory!

Rejoice, sweet-teeth! And be proud of the national factory "Bucuria". At the end of September, five types of candies at once received the Grand-prix at the tasting competition within the prestigious international exhibition "World Food Moscow-2009".

Such a high award is received by the enterprise for the first time. About how it happened, about the problems and joys we talk to the main technologist of "Bucuria" Svetlana MANTALUTA and to the head of sales and marketing department Veaceslav LICA.

- By what principles did you choose the tasting objects?

S.M.: - First of all the appearance of the box should be impressive. Second – the various unusual filling, and third – the quality of the chocolate coating. And the candies "Forastero exclusive", "Gloria PRALINE", "Dorinta", "Chisinaul de seara", "Folclor" have these parameters at the highest level. Apropos, it was difficult to us to experience the awarding. The giving of gold medals was already ending, and we were not called yet. So we thought that was all – or they lost the documents, or they forgot something. And then – Grand-prix! A real surprise...

I consider that this is still the merit of the technologists team, which, despite the fact that now everybody place the gain on the first place, they care first of all about the quality and observe it undeviatingly. The requirements to the raw material, technological process are the strictest. It is because of this that the factory resisted during hard times. After all the candies are not first need products, but products for pleasure. And the pleasure has to be real.

Such an approach to the quality is taken in all the directions: in the confectionery of the economic class, in the candies of the middle pricing level and in the premium segment. Everybody wants something sweet, and we try to satisfy the consumers with the most different tastes and purses. Though lately many insist on the decrease of the range I order to decrease the expenses, this is not our approach. And the people also became accustomed to the variety of the production offered by us.

- Maybe soon we’ll see something new on the counters?

S.M.:- We will fully change the receipt and label of our chocolate, we will give it a so/called new impulse. After all many associate it till present with "Dor". But "Dor" is not chocolate, it is a chocolate bar, despite that it is made of high-quality cocoa butter substitute. We will organize the issue of chocolate with 90 % cocoa content and different fillings. Also new series of candy "Gloria" - "GLAMOURE", "CAPRICE" will appear.

- And what about the coming out on the Russian and Ukrainian markets? Maybe due to the victory you could conclude a couple of beneficial contracts?

V.L.: - The Grand-prix award strengthens the trust of the consumer towards our production, confirms the correctness of their choice, but, unfortunately, it does not have any impact on the decisions of the merchants. Yes, we study the possibilities of coming out to the Russian market. Unfortunately this implies a lot of problems – high import fees, difficulties in the registration of the trademarks (too much coincidences in the names of the candies), and very long distances. Namely, the potential distributor will have to settle a lot of issues, that is way nobody wants to risk.

As you know, our production is natural, and this means it has a short shelf-life. For the work with such a capricious product, a precise sales strategy, a good knowledge of the local market is necessary. And the merchants are aimed at fast and easy profit. Few people ay be interested to take for sale candies, despite that they are tasty, with a short shelf-life. But maybe soon we open our representative office in Moscow. And we hope that our production will have a deserved demand form the buyers, because SA «Bucuria» is one of the few enterprises of the Republic of Moldova producing a world quality product, which we have confirmed one more time!
